Bulk carrier boarded by robbers
The "Beks Cenk" was boarded by eight robbers armed with guns and knives, at the Conakry anchorage, Guinea, in position 009 19 58 N, 013 44 03 W,on Nov 21, 2018, at 3 a.m. The armed robbers took hostage of the duty able seaman and forced him with a knife held to his throat, to take them to the bridge. They took the 2nd Officer and the able seaman to the master's cabin, where they hit the master and threatened to shoot the 2nd Officer, before stealing cash from the vessel?s safe and other personal belongings. The robbers kept the three crew members hostage, until they disembarked the vessel in waiting boats. The Conakry port control was informed of the incident.
