Collision off Gallipoli
On Jan 10, 2020, at 7.30 a.m. the 'Kestanelik' was in collision with the 44-m-ferry 'NG' off Gallipoli which was serving the Gelibolu-Çardak route. The ferry was hit at the port side stern at the height of the waterline and berthed at the Gallipoli Pier. The passengers were safely disembarked along with their vehicles.Some desel oil leaked into the sea from the ruptured fuel tank. Coastal Safety sent the "Kegm-9" to respond to the oil spill which laid out and oil boom around the ferry. It was claimed that the accident happened because the captain of the fishing vessel had fallen asleep at the helm. The 'Kenadelik' suffered bow damage.
