Medevac off Borkum
In the night of Apr 27, 2014, a man injured his foot in an accident aboard the "JB 117" in the wind farm Bard Offshore 1 about 90 kilometers North of Borkum. As no helicopter was able to medevac the man, the lifeboat "Alfried Krupp" took the victim to shore. He was lifted from the platform "Borwin Alpha" with a crane. Underway to Eemshaven he was stabilized so far that the lifeboat was able to stop in Borkum to take a pregnant woman aboard who was also taken to the mainland.
