Ferry service disrupted due to technical fault
The Kilcreggan-Gourock ferry service was disrupted as the "Island Princess" was withdrawn from service in the afternoon of July 17, 2017. The operators Clydelink was blaming a technical fault for the disruption. The vessel remained out of operation all day, and despite a pledge that the service would resume later in the day, there was again no service in the morning of July 19. A free replacement bus service was operating over the 50 miles between Kilcreggan and Gourock in place of the 13-minute ferry trip. The replacement bus service leaves Gourock ferry terminal at 0920, 1200, 1555 and 1825, and departs from the bus stop opposite Kilcreggan pier at 0800, 1040, 1435 and 1705.
