Grounding in Slijkgat
On March 14, 2020, the 'Isla S - DS 1' ran aground in the Slijkgat, the route to the fishing port of Stellendam, in the middle of the fairway. The KNRM lifeboat 'Antoinette' was deployed to the scene and arrived on site 20 minutes after the grounding. An initial attempt to refloat the vessel failed due to the draft of 5,2 meters of the casualty and the ebbing tide. At 10 p.m. the Dutch Tender Service BV was notified by the Dutch Coastguard and was ordered by the owner of the vessel for refloating. At midnight the tug 'Anteos' (IMO: 9223681) sailed towards the grounding site and arrived on scene on March 15 and established a towing connection at 5 a.m. At 5.30 a.m. the fishing vessel was successfully refloated. As the master of was not familiar in the area he requested a tow into the port of Stellendam. At 6.50 a.m. the convoy arrived safely in the port in Stellendam. The 'Anteos' disconnect her towing gear and proceed back to her standby port of Scheveningen.
