Five fishermen accused of killing may be released

Five fishermen who were accused of killing the 41-year-old Alf Villum Jensen on board the 'Inger Kathrine' last January could leave the Court in Holstebro as free men on June 13, 2024, after a jury acquitted them. The five men were indicted for, in the period from Jan 26 to 30m 2023, depriving Jensen of his liberty by tying his arms and legs together, and then killing him by, among other things, strangling and grabbing his neck and having committed extensive blunt violence against the man's head and body. Those now acquitted have always declared their innocence. The five crew members have unanimously explained that Alf Villum Jensen suddenly went berserk on board, probably due to delirium tremens, caused by prolonged abuse of alcohol. Among other things. After the five crew members succeeded in pacifying him, he stopped breathing and was subsequently declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The many injuries that were subsequently found on the deceased, according to the other crew members, stemmed from the time he went berserk and injuries he sustained during the passivation.

Trawler suffered gear trouble

On Dec 4, 2018, at 5.15 p.m. the "Inger Kathrine - L 610" suffered gear prpblems off Esbjerg. The sea rescue station of the port was requested to assist. The trawler was safely berthed in basin 2 of the fishing port at 5.40 p.m.
