Three ferries seized for corruption allegations
In the morning of June 6, 2023, the ferries 'Ulisse' (IMO: 7817828), 'Bridge' ((IMO: 7817830) and the 'Helga', all owned by the ferry operator Caronte & Tourist, were seized and their assets confiscated by the Italian police due to corruption allegations. The company's management was accused of corruption. The 'Ulisse' was located in Messina, the 'Bridge' in Milazzo and the 'Helga' in Palermo. The vessels will have to remain at the docks during the investigation. The court also froze almost 30 million Euros in the company's bank accounts.
