Passenger died on board
On Aug 5, 2019, the Kissamos Port Authority was informed at noon by the captain of the "Gramvousa" that a 42-year-old passenger fell ill and was in need of hospital care. The ferry, which was sailing from Kissamos to Gramvousa and Balos, returned to the port of Kissamos where doctors boarded the ship for first aid. The passenger, however, was pronounced dead and taken by ambulance to the Kissamos Health Center and then transferred to the Chania General Hospital for an autopsy. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Kissamos Port Authority.
