Man fell from yacht and was critically injured
A 22 year old British crew member of the "Kibo" was seriously injured when he fell over board the "Kibo" off Puerto Portals during cleaning works in the morning of May 16, 2015. He was recovered from the sea bottom after several minutes in critical state. An investigation was launched against the master and two officers. The victim had been secured with a belt which opened so that he fell down from a large height so that he became unconscious. The accident was remarked only after some minutes. The captain himself pulled the man to the surface in a diving suit. He was found 30 meters away from the boat in the water depth of 18 meters. He was rescuscitated by the master and taken to the hospital Son Espases.
