Ferry ran aground at Hakan
The "Gjemnes", sailing between Holmestrand and Langøya, ran aground on the rock fill of the breakwater at the far end of Hakan on the Feb 28, 2025., at around 2.40 p.m.. About 15 minutes later, the ferry managed to free itself again, assisted by the crew boat "Hørtte" (MMSI: 257054700). At around 3 p.m., the ferry docked at its berth and all passengers and cars disembarked. There was dense fog at the scene when the incident occurred. On the night of March 1, the lifeboat 'Ivar Formo' (MMSI: 257089480) attended, and its crrew conducted a dive inspection dive of the hull, and on March 1 the ferry was sailing again on the route. Ferry aground near Bergen
The "Gjemnes" ran aground at Bjelkarøy south of Flesland, off Bergen on Aug 12, 2017, with a crew of seven on board. The lifeboat "RS 163" was deployed to assist the ship and carried out a hull survey with a diver. The tug "BB Coaster" was called to refloat the ferry with the rising tide in the afternoon, arriving on site at 1.30 p.m. It was pulled off at 2 p.m. and proceeded with power. It was docked in Rubbestadneset for repairs at 6.30 p.m., remaining there since. A navigational error had caused the accident. Grounded ferry evacuated
On Dec 10, 2015, at 6.20 p.m. the "Heilhorn" ran aground short after the departure from Sandvikvåg in Fitjarg a few hundred meters from the pier. She got stock on a rock at Raudholmane. 13 passengers were evacuated in rough weather from the ship which is servicing between Sandvikvåg and Husavåg at Austevoll and taken aboard the ferry "Raunefjord" which runs between Halhjem and Sandvikvåg. The passengers had to go in the lifeboat to be transferred onto the other ferry in three runs. The evacuees were wearing full rescue equipment. They were transported to Sandvikvåg. The lifeboat "Bjarne Kyrkjebø" which was on exercise in Korsfjorden was notified of the grounding via VHF Radio and was on scene half an hour later, as well as the "Simrad Ferder" and "Askerbæringen", The latter managed to pulled the ferry with its crew of five off at 9.50 p.m. She was then taken over by the "Bjarne Kyrkjebø" and pulled to Sandvikvåg too.
