Medevac off Ile de Batz
A British passenger of the 'Galicia', en route from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, was medevaced by a Dragon 29 helicopter late on Dec 12, 2021, about twenty kilometers north of the Ile de Batz. The 60-year-old woman, suffering from epilepsy and evidently a cardiac problem, was in need of immediate medical attendance In order to shorten the response time, the vessel moved closer to the coast to facilitate the work of the Dragon 29, more accustomed to operations along the coast. The aircraft arrived from Quimper with a diver on board, as well as an army doctor and nurse from Lanvéoc, while the patient was being taken care of on board. The Dragon 29 headed for Brest Guipavas in order to refuel before returning to hoist the passenger. She was taken to the hospital La Cavale-Blanche fpr further treatment.
