Six migrants rescued off Equinen
In the early mornong of Nov 16, the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed that a migrant boat was in difficulty off Equihen beach and deplyoed the 'Rhône ' to assist. The crew picked up six people and dropped them off aboard their RIB at the port of Boulogne in the late morning, where they were taken care of by the departmental fire and rescue service and the border police.
44 migrants rescued off Dunkirk
In the night of July 18, 2023, the CROSS Gris-Nez was informed that a boat was in difficulty off Dunkirk. The CROSS then frployed the 'Rhône' to provide assistance. After the location of the boat, the 'Rhône' recovered the 44 castaways on board and dropped them off at the port of Calais.
24 migrants rescued by two vessels
On Jan 10, 2021, the CROSS Gris-Nez was contacted by several migrant boats reporting difficulties in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. The CROSS deployed the VCSM 'Escaut' to assist. 14 migrants were picked up and then dropped off at the port of Dunkirk, where they are taken care of by the border police at 10.58 a.m. The CROSS Gris-Nez was also notified by the BSAM 'Rhône' that a boat was in difficulty off Ambleteuse. The 'Rhône' provided assistance. The ship picked up 10 castaways and brought them to the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, where they were taken care of by the border police at 2:45 p.m.
