Investigations following oil leak
On the "Fjärdvägen" a leakage of hydraulic oil has been discovered. The spill may have lasted a long time. Investigators have opened a criminal complaint about the pollution. The Åland Coast Guard recently has discovered the oil leak during an inspection in Långnäs port along with the Safety Agency Trafi. They interrogated the ship's crew and took oil samples both from the ship and from the water. - The oil samples were sent to the Central Bureau of Investigation laboratory in Helsinki. It was planned to repair the leaking thruster when the "Fjärdvägen" was drydocked during the period from Jan 4 to 15, 2016.
