Grounded tanker refloated

On April 21, 2020, the 'Aziz TorlakL was refloated with the high tide and the help of a tug. The tanker was brought to Dakhla Anchorage for inspections. Tgere were no reports on damages so far. It had run aground while entering Dakhla in the afternoon of April 10 upon arrival from Cartagena. The tanker sailed on Apr 27, at 3 p.m. after it was deemed seaworthy, headed to Tuzla, ETA May 8.

Tanker grounded off Dhakla

The 'Aziz Torlak' with a crew of 18 of Turkish and Georgian nationalities, ran aground at the entrance of the port of Dakhla under unknown circumstances on April 10, 2020, in pos. 23° 36.56' N 015° 59.19' W. The tanker was coming from the port of Cartagena and was carrying large quantities of fuel. The port authorities in Dakhla mobilized tugs from Qatar to tow the tanker off. There were no fears or the possibility of a fuel leakage.
