Smoke development in engine room
While being in the lock of Belfeld in the midday hours of Aug 29, 2014, the crew of the "De Zuidplas" remarked development of smoke in the engine room. The fire rescue was alerted and attended with engines from Venlo, Kessel and Reuver. On their arrival they did not find open fire, but Isolation of the exhaust pipes had heated up and started smoking. The crew of five remained uninjured.
