Brielle to shelter in Funchal
The "Brielle" was heading for Funchal as port of shelter after a cargo shift in the Atlantic caused a severe list, with an ETA of Apr 8. The ship entered Canical Port around 3 p.m.
Got a heavy list in the Atlantic
Reportedly on Apr 5 German freighter Brielle developed a heavy list of 20-25 degrees in the Atlantic some 170 nautical miles south of Lisbon, en route from Nikolayev, Ukraine, to Panama Canal. Brielle is said to be sailing to nearest Portugal port, while the crew is trying to stabilize the vessel. Details are unknown.
Freighter Brielle on fire in Ensenada, 1 dead and 6 injured
The fire broke out on board of general cargo vessel Brielle at around 1545 July 14 2012 during cargo operations in Ensenada port, La Plata, Argentina. It took firefighters several hours to put fire under control, firefighting tugs were also engaged in fighting the fire. Six crew members were hospitalized, one died in a hold where fire started, though it’s not clear at the moment whether he was a dock worker or crew member. The cause of the fire and size of damages are also unknown. On pics from local media m/v Brielle on fire. Late in 2011 13 crew was Russian – Filipino – Ukrainian.
