Passenger who fell over board rescued

On Dec 21, 2024, at 5.53 a.m. WIB a man fell overboard from the KMP 'Citra Mandala Sakti', while crossing the Bali Strait. The ferry, operating on the route from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port, had departed at 05:38 a.m., carrying 33 four-wheeled vehicles, one two-wheeled vehicle, 16 passengers, and 15 crew members. At around 05:53 a.m. the captain was informed by one of the crew members that a passenger, Wayan Indriyani, had been seen leaning against the ship's railing before falling overboard. Following the report, the harbour master immediately coordinated with the BASARNAS (National Search and Rescue Agency), POLAIRUD (Water and Air Police), the Indonesian Navy, and other relevant agencies to conduct an SAR operation. A search post was established at the UPP Class II Office in Gilimanuk. Thanks to intensive search efforts, the victim was successfully found.

Truck toppled over

In high waves, a truck aboard the KMP "Citra Mandala Sakti" toppled over on July 16, 2019, at 8:50 p.m. in the Bali Strait when the ferry sailed from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port close to its destination. The truck with a load of rice bran was bound to Bali. The waves reached heights of two to three meters.. The ship loaded with two medium trucks, one bus, three private vehicles, and seven motorbikes.
