Medevac off Atlantic City
A military crew aboard a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter rescued a 73-year-old man who suffered a medical episode on the 'Carnival Venezia' on the night of Sep 22, 2025. The authorities received a report shortly after 10 p.m. of a man in need of medical attention aboard the cruise ship. The distress call was made about 30 miles off the coast of Atlantic City. A Coast Guard helicopter arrived at around 11:35 p.m. and transported the passenger to an Atlantic City hospital. The ship had departed from New York, at 4 p.m.. and it resumed sailing with no impact to its nine-day Caribbean cruise itinerary.
Medevac off Cape Lookout
The US Coast Guard medevaced an 85-year-old woman from the 'Carnival Venezia' on Oct 6, 2024, approximately 98 nautical miles off Cape Lookout. Sector North Carolina Command Center watchstanders received a medevac request from the cruise ship after the woman began experiencing stroke-like symptoms. A Coast Guard Air Facility Charleston, South Carolina MH-65 Dolphin helicopter arrived on scene, hoisted the patient and flew her to Wilmington Airport, where local EMS transported her to the New Hanover Wilmington Regional Medical Center. The cruise ship was en route to the Bahamas. Medevac off New Jersey
A US Coast Guard helicopter aircrew medevaced a 56-year-old female from the 'Carnival Venezia' approximately 52 miles east of Toms River, New Jersey, on Aug 22, 2024. Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders received a report from the vessel on Aug 21 at approximately 7:50 p.m. of a passenger experiencing a medical emergency. The duty flight surgeon was consulted and recommended a medical evacuation to a higher level of care. A Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City MH-65 Dolphin aircrew launched and arrived on-scene around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The aircrew successfully hoisted and transported the patient to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in New Jersey. The condition of the patient was unknown.
