Helicopter of aircraft carrier crashed during exercise

A member of the Royal Navy has died after a helicopter crashed in the English Channe on a training exercise on Sep 4, 2024. An investigation into the crash will be launched. The incident involved a Merlin Mk4 helicopter near Dorset that ditched while conducting night flying exercises with HMS 'Queen Elizabeth'. There were no other fatalities or serious injuries. It is believed that three crew members were onboard the helicopter at the time of the crash. The two other members of the Royal Navy were taken to hospital. The body of the third crew member, who has not yet been identified, was recovered from the scene.

Repairs in Rosyth completed

The HMS 'Queen Elizabeth' has completed repairs at Rosyth and sailed on July 22. The warship was due to take to the North Sea for NATO’s largest mission since the Cold War, Steadfast Defender, but a fault to the propeller shaft was discovered in February. In March, the ship set sail from Portsmouth to Rosyth, and will now undertake trials. Minor fire on aircraft carrier

A small fire broke out on the HMS 'Queen Elizabeth' on the River Clyde on March 9, 2024. The aircraft carrier was no on its way to Rosyth for necessary repairs on its starboard propeller shaft coupling. There were no reports of injuries. The minor, isolated fire was quickly brought under control by the crew and extinguished.
