Party boat evacuated after smoke development
A birthday party on the party boat "Boot 3" was abruptly stopped in the afternoon of July 3, 2017, after smoke came out of the engine room. The ship with about 50 passengers was pulled bto the Burg vd Lelykade by the port service where the fire department could board the vessel. The smoke came from a torn cooling water pipe. Liquids then came in contact with the hot exhaust, which caused the smoke development. The passengers were eventually returned by bus to the Botlek.
