Ferry suffered ramp damage
On March 11 at noon, the Port Authority of Tzelepis was informed that a failure occurred on the vehicles ramp of the 'Blue Star Myconos' upon its arrival at the port, en route from the ports of Vathy, Samos, Karlovasi, Evdilos, Mykonos and Syros. The ferry disembarked 360 passengers. The Port Department of Tzelepi of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus initially prohibited the sailing of the ship. After the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the classification society that monitors it, the sailings were allowed to be continued.
Ferry skipped port due to unsafe conditions
On the morning of Nov 21, 2024, the Port Authority of Agios Efstratios was informed by the master of the'Blue Star Mykonos', which was performing its scheduled route from Kavala to Myrina – Agios Efstratios – Mytilini – Chios – Vathi – Karlovasi – Fourni – Agios Kyrykos – Mykonos – Syros and Piraeus, that its approach to the port was deemed unsafe due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the area. The ship continued its route for the port of Mytilene. Four passengers and two trucks were waiting to disembark on the ship.
Crew member injured during loading operations
In the evening hours of Sep 16, 2023, the Port Authority of Thessaloniki was informed about the injury of a 21-year-old crew member of the 'Blue Star Myconos' during the loading operations. He was injured while passing through the stern door from the parking area to the stern patch area. He was transported by an ambulance to the University General Hospital of Thessaloniki for medical treatment. A preliminary investigation was carried out by the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki.
