Anchor dragged in storm

On Jan 24, 2025, the ' BG Jade', moored in the Bristol Channel, ordered to start its engines to be able to manoeuvre, as the anhor had started dragging in stormy weather conditions, and the ship started drifting towards the ferry ' Stena Hibernia'.

Container loss off Scillies

On Feb 11, 2020, at 4.35 a.m. the 'BG Jade', en route from Cork to Rotterdam with an ETA as of Feb 13, lost containers overboard 60 miles off the Isles of Scilly in position 50 15 00 N, 007 47 01 W. The containers were due to drift easterly and it was not clear if they would sink. A navigation warning has been issued. No visible damage to the vessel has been reported. Complete checks will be carried out later once it is safe to do so. The vessel safely berthed at the RST Shortsea Container Terminal South in its port of destination on Feb 13 at 9.40 a.m. where further checks could be carried out.

Engine trouble between Lands's End and the Isles of Scilly

The "Bg Jade", en route from Rotterdam to Belfast, with 15 people on board, was reported as Not Under Command (NUC), in position 50 03 42N, 05 52 54W, on Apr 17, 2017, at 2 a.m. within the traffic separation scheme between Lands's End and the Isles of Scilly in the northbound Lane. A system alarm was activated and the crew stopped the main engine to investigate. They effected repairs and the vessel was back under way very quickly, and it berthed at the Cictoria Container Terminal 3 in Belfast on Apr 17 at 11 p.m.
