Allision on the Volga
On July 29, 2018, the "Balt Flot 3" was in allision with the Russian cargo m/v "Severodvinsk" at Gorodetskiy lock gate No.15, at km mark 85,5 on the Volga river. Two abrasions and two dents on starboard side aft resulted when the cargo ship came in contact with the stern of product tanker. Traffic through the lock gates continued normally.
Tanker breached in collision
The "Balt Flot 3" collided with the barge 3428 pushed by the tug "BT Petrokrepost" on Sep 25, 2017, at 01.05 a.m. Moscow time on the Volga-Baltic Sea Canal at kilometer mark 790 in the area of the village Kurdyug. The tanker, being loaded with 5.193 tons of heavy fuel, was changing course to pass the oncoming cargo m/v "Omskiy 20" (IMO: 8858049), and didn’t notice the unlit barge, which was within the fairway. The tug didn’t communicate and failed to warn vessels in the vicinity of the barge. The tanker suffered a hull breach below the waterline in the bow thruster compartment with ensuing water ingress. The breach was temporarily patched, no oil spill occurred.
