Engine failure off Corfu
On the morning of June 7, 2025, the Port Authority of Corfu was informed by the Captain of the 'Azimut' about a failure of the starboard side main engine on its scheduled route from the port of Gaios n. Paxos to the port of Corfu. The ship sailed to the port of Corfu, where it safely disembarked its seven passengers. The Central Port Authority of Corfu prohibited the departure of the ferry until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness from the supervising classification society.
Engine damage off Corfu
The Port Authority of Corfu was informed in the morning hours of July 17, 2022, by the Master of the 'Azimut' that while serving its scheduled route from the port of Gaios, Paxos, to the port of Corfu, it suffered damage to the starboard side main engine. A patrol boatimmediately went to the area for assistance, while the vessel continued its voyage with conventional propulsion and escorted by the patrol boat to the port of Corfu, where its 38 passengers disembarked safely. Subsequently, the ship was boarded by a team of inspectors, and the Central Port Authority of Corfu prohibited the sailing of the ship until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of maintenance of class and seaworthiness by the attending classification society.
Engine damage off Corfu
In the morning hours of Aug 20, 2018, the Port Authority of Corfu was informed by the captain of the "Azimut" that the ship had suffered a damaged to the starboard main engine while sailing from Corfu to Gaios Paxos Port, with its final destination in Zakynthos. The ferry returned to the port of Corfu, where it safely dropped off its 24 passengers. The port authority detained the ship until repair of the damage and a class certificate was presented by the relevant classification society.
