Sailors threatened to lose their jobs after change of flag

Wed Mar 14 10:53:42 CET 2018 Timsen

The "NAO Prospector" and "Nao Guardian", both operated by Remøy Shipping will change their flags from Norway to British flag and 48 seamen are threatened to lose their jobs. Remøy Shipping will try to minimize the number of sailors affected by the change of flags. The vessels are two of a total of eight supply ships which were taken over by the American company Nao. The two ships will sail with mainly British and Polish seamen.

Platform crew took to the lifeboats after collision

Thu Jul 10 10:14:14 CEST 2014 Timsen

The staff at the Oseberg East platform had to go to the lifeboats after the "Blue Protector" collided with the platform during an operation in the North Sea on July 10, 2014, at 1.40 a.m. The ship got stuck under the platform deck, but caused only insignificant damage. After the collision the crew went routinely to the lifeboats where they sat for nearly two hours. The situation could be quickly resolved. During a close check, it was not found any structural damage neither to the platform nor to the supply vessel which had suffered damage at the mast. At 3:42 a.m. the 60 men aboard the platform went back to work.
