Medevac in Menorca Canal
On Jan 24, 2020, a medical evacuation was requested by the 'Polar King' which was located in the Menorca Canal. Salvamento Marítimo deplyed the 'Salvamar Aldebarán' which took the patient off and transferred him to the port of Ciutadella, where he is taken to the hospital for further treatment.
Nexans exercises option on GC Rieber subsea vessel
GC Rieber Shipping has been given a boost, with Nexans Skagerrak declaring a 13 month option on construction support vessel Polar King. Nexans contracted the vessel in March for eight and a half months commencing January 2017, and with the options now declared will employ the vessel through to September 2018. Further extension options are still available.
