Man died after falling over board
A man died on July 17, 2024, at around 2.30 p.m. when he fell from the deck of the 'Andrea' in the Zuid-Willemsvaart near near the De Amert business park in Veghel. It is not yet clear how that could happen at around 2:30 p.m. The man was not at work at the time. His body was lifted onto the deck. Detectives investigated the moored ship near Veghel at the end of the afternoon. The N279 in the direction of Veghel was temporarily closed for the investigation. The provincial road reopened around 4:20 p.m. Investigators talked to the crew of the ship. Police examined both the deck and the cabin of the ship, which was cordoned off. Early in the evening the body of the deceased was removed. The police then left around 6 p.m. The ship was en route from Nijmegen.
