Ship lost three hatches in storm
On Jan 7, 2025, the work ship 'Theodorus' recovered three sliding hatch covers, measuring 8x6 metres each, which were blown overboard from the 'Ancora Imparo' near Bohmte on the Mittelland Canal in a strong storm on Jan 6, while the ship was en route from Minden to Amsterdam (Lat. 52.4033 Lng.8.1516). The canal between Bohmte and Kalkriese in the Osnabrück district was closed until the evening of Jan 7. Divers were able to recover the parts and reattach them to the cargo holds. The incident caused considerable waiting times for ship traffic. Ships coming from the direction of Minden were backed up in the harbour near Bohmte.
