Tug called to extinguish fire on scrap ship

the "Albert L. Ledcor" responded to a fire that erupted on the decommissioned coaster "Tyee Princess", 339 gt (IMO-No.: 8640363), near Surrey in the morning of Oct 30, 2018, and which has been sending thick black smoke into the air. Crews from Vancouver had been called in to help by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority for assistance in extinguishing the blaze in the south arm of the Fraser River on the Surrey side. The "Fireboat 1" and a batalion chief have been sent in to help. Land-based crews were fighintg the fire from the shore. The barge caught fire while crews were taking it apart with blow torches.
