River cruise ship scratched by lock
On Nov 25, 2013, at 5.10 p.m. the "A-Rosa Silva" was damaged while entering the lock on the Rhine at Griesheim. The gates of the lock by human mistake were closed when the ship was in between. The gates scraped the hull on both sides on a length of 15-20 meters. The ship suffered scratches, also the gates suffered slight damage.
Hig h water level on Main stranded river cruise ship
The "A-Rosa Silva" had to dock at the Mainlände in Schweinfurt due to the high water level on the Main already on Dec 17, 2012. The ship may be stuck until at least Jan 5, 2013. There were no passengers on board since they disembarked already in Nürnberg after completition of a Christmas Cruise to Regensburg. The "A-Rosa Silva" headed to Düsseldorf from there to be overhauled in a yard. The crew of 50 was sent home from Schweinfurt, only the master with five men remained on board to maintain the ship.
